The Tren del Ciment begins its 2026 season tomorrow, Saturday, March 28, with a notable new feature: extended operating hours to coincide with the Gaudí Year celebrations. This event, commemorating the centenary of Antoni Gaudí’s death, is expected to bring a large number of visitors to the Artigas Gardens, one of the architect’s most unique works, seamlessly integrated into the natural landscape.

More convenience for visitors
To make planning visits easier during this special year, the historic train will run both mornings and afternoons every day it is open until November 1st. In addition, the service will operate continuously on weekends in July, throughout August, and on several days in September. As part of this celebration, the Tren del Ciment will be decorated with the Gaudí Year logo for the entire season.
A centenary journey through Berguedà
The president of FGC, Carles Ruiz Novella, accompanied by the mayors of La Pobla de Lillet and Castellar de n’Hug, took the inaugural trip of a season that aims to strengthen the region’s tourism and cultural offerings. This train service, with over 100 years of history, connects La Pobla de Lillet with the Cement Museum and allows passengers to discover the area’s industrial and architectural heritage in comfort.

Combined experiences and cultural activities
For a complete experience, the combined package remains available, including the journey on the historic train plus visits to the Artigas Gardens and the Cement Museum. Additionally, the website gaudi.poblalillet.cat has been set up to provide information on all events related to Gaudí’s legacy in the municipality.
On the other hand, the Cement Museum will offer guided tours throughout the season, immersive tours on Saturday afternoons, and theatrical tours during the summer. Several open house days are also scheduled on key dates such as May 17th and September 11th.
With nearly 30,000 visitors last year, the Tren del Ciment is establishing itself as a unique experience that combines history, landscape and the architectural excellence of Gaudí.
