History of the Tren dels Llacs

The Tren dels Llacs winds its way through mountains, bridges, tunnels and spectacular gorges. This unique train takes passengers on a journey through nature, from the plains up to the Pre-Pyrenees of Lleida, without having to set foot outside the carriage.

here are two ways to enjoy this magical route: the Historic Train, comprised of vintage rolling stock; and the Panoramic Train, comprised of conventional rolling stock with panoramic windows.

The trains depart from Lleida and terminate at La Pobla de Segur, with a stop at Balaguer. The route incorporates four lakes, 40 tunnels and 75 bridges.

  • Optional stops can be made at Cellers and Tremp stations. These must be requested when the booking is made via email [email protected].
  • Flexible return date: you can come back on the same day, or extend your visit up to a maximum of six days. The Tren dels Llacs ticket also allows you to travel back to Lleida on the regular scheduled train service.
