Coinciding with the first service of the 2026 season of the Tren dels Llacs, Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) has launched the new Turistren Passport for travelling on FGC’s tourist transport services. This new digital pass has been launched with the aim of encouraging the discovery of Catalonia’s natural and railway heritage, reinforcing FGC’s commitment to the economic revitalisation of the region.
A digital passport with exclusive advantages

The Turistren Passport brings together, for the first time, six of the eight FGC tourist services. It is entirely digital and very straightforward to use: when purchasing a ticket for any of the included services, the user receives a link to register and start logging their journeys.
The services included in this initial phase are:
From their very first journey, passengers will be able to enjoy discounts of up to 20% on their next journey. Furthermore, those who complete the journey on all six trains by 31 December 2027 will receive a commemorative gift and be entered into a prize draw for a special prize.
A positive impact on the region and growth in domestic tourism
The president of Ferrocarriles, Carles Ruiz Novella, accompanied by the deputy director of FGC’s Rail Tourism Services, David Ros Sánchez, and the manager of FGC Rail, Ramon Vall Canosa, emphasised during the presentation at Lleida-Pirineos station that this support helps to promote the full range of tourist transport services, which are already proving very popular. Ruiz noted that, following a successful winter season, the outlook for the summer is very optimistic: “We hope to reach one and a half million visitors with our full range of services and the boost provided by the Turistren Passport”.
In fact, figures for Easter week already show significant increases compared to the previous year, with rises of 9% to Montserrat, 17% to Núria and a spectacular 58% for the Tren del Ciment.
2026 season: The Tren dels Llacs is already running
The Tren dels Llacs, which runs between the Lleida Plain and the Pre-Pyrenees, is offering a total of 29 services this year:
- Historic Train: 23 services every Saturday from today until 27 June, and from 22 August to 31 October.
- Panoramic Train: 6 services between 4 July and 8 August.
The 89-kilometre journey offers stunning scenery as it passes through 4 lakes, 40 tunnels and 75 bridges. In addition, an on-board guide explains the historical and natural features of the route, which runs through the regions of Segrià, Noguera and Pallars Jussà.
During the journey, which lasts approximately two hours, the train also offers the option of making optional stops on request at Tremp and Cellers, or continuing the journey to La Pobla de Segur.

During the journey, the Tren dels Llacs crosses 75 bridges.
Additional activities to round off the day
The Tren dels Llacs experience is complemented by a wide range of activities at the various stops:
- La Pobla de Segur: Visit the Pyrenees Wildlife and Nature Interpretation Centre, the Raier Space, the Molí de l’Oli, Casa Mauri or the Portet Liqueur Factory.
- Salàs de Pallars: Explore its unique museum shops.
- Tremp: Visit the Epicentre (Visitor Centre of the Orígenes Geopark) or the Capdella Hydroelectric Museum. You can also visit the Salt Museum in Gerri de la Sal.
The Tren dels Llacs ticket also allows you to return to Lleida within six days of travelling on the regular train service.
You can now book your experience on the Tren dels Llacs via the turistren.cat online shop, the portal that brings together all of FGC’s tourist transport services. What’s more, when you purchase your ticket, you’ll gain access to the new digital Turistren Passport so you can start collecting stamps for your journeys and enjoy exclusive discounts.
This initiative, much like the FlexiPass for ski resorts, aims to offer visitors maximum freedom and convenience to enjoy the mountains and Catalonia’s heritage all year round.
