The Tren del Ciment, operated by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC), has finished the 2025 season with a new record of 29,989 visitors, solidifying its position as one of the main tourist attractions in the Berguedà region.
The 2025 season was also notable for the addition of new cultural experiences at the Museu del Ciment Asland (Cement Museum), such as the theatrical tours “Fàbrica endins” (Factory Inside) and “L’Asland d’un segle enre” (Asland of a Century Back), as well as for improvements in sustainability and services, including the installation of four electric vehicle charging points in the Pobla de Lillet parking lot and the improvement of access to the station in this Berguedà town to enhance passenger flow.
The train, which connects La Pobla de Lillet and Castellar de n’Hug, operated between April and November and surpassed the exceptional figures of the previous year. This historic route allows passengers to discover gems of the area’s industrial and cultural heritage, such as the Artigas Gardens, designed by Antoni Gaudí, and the Asland Cement Museum, located in the former cement factory.
Looking ahead to 2026, declared the Year of Gaudí, the Cement Train is preparing new initiatives that will reinforce its role as a benchmark for cultural and local tourism, such as the celebration of various commemorative events for the centenary of the Catalan architect’s death.
