This tourist transport managed by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya will offer service until November 2.

Regarding the improvements in the service, one of the main novelties is the commissioning of 4 charging points for electric vehicles in the Pobla de Lillet car park.

The Tren del Ciment, managed by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC), begins the new season this Saturday, March 5, with new activities that have been incorporated into the Museu del Ciment. This tourist train with more than a century of history, which runs from La Pobla de Lillet to Castellar de n’Hug, invites visitors to embark on a journey through time and discover the treasures of Berguedà. It will offer service until November 2.

This year, the visit incorporates two new activities at the Museu del Ciment, which expands its cultural offer. On the one hand, from May 17, every Saturday, visitors will be able to immerse themselves in the immersive experience “Factory Inside”, which requires prior reservation. And, on the other hand, from June 21 to September 13, also on Saturdays, there will be theatrical tours of “Asland from a century ago”, which will transport attendees to the golden age of the cement factory.

Throughout the season, the museum will also offer the following open days:

  • May 18 (International Museum Day)
  • July 25 (Cultural Day of Sant Jaume
  • September 11 (National Day of Catalonia)
  • October 12 (European Heritage Days)
  • October 26 (Industrial Tourism Week)
  • November 16 (Science Week

Regarding the improvements in the service, one of the main novelties is the entry into operation of the charging points for electric vehicles in the Pobla de Lillet car park. These are 4 semi-fast chargers that join the network of almost 60 charging points for electric vehicles that Ferrocarrils has in operation in its tourist operations. In addition, the accesses to the station in this municipality of Berguedà have also been adapted to improve the flow of people.

A journey through landscapes of great beauty

Formerly known as the “Carrilet”, this railway linked the Asland cement factory in Castellar de n’Hug with Guardiola de Berguedà. Today, it has become a railway jewel that offers a 3.5-kilometer and 20-minute journey through landscapes of great beauty, with forests and a privileged natural environment. The journey goes into the surroundings of the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park, one of the largest in Catalonia and rich in biodiversity.

During the journey, the train stops at four points of interest: La Pobla de Lillet, Pobla Centre, the Jardins Artigas and the Museu del Ciment. Each stop offers the opportunity to explore the tourist attractions of the area, from the Exhibition of Historical Trains of the Llobregat Valley in La Pobla de Lillet, to the Artigas Gardens of Antoni Gaudí and the Cement Museum, which allows visitors to learn about the history of the first cement factory in Catalonia. In addition, you can explore the Pont Vell and the Monastery of Santa Maria de Lillet in La Pobla Centre, and discover the Fonts del Llobregat and the villages of Berguedà. A combined package allows you to visit the Artigas Gardens and the Cement Museum.

A world to discover

The Berguedà also offers a wide variety of cultural and nature activities for all audiences, among which a visit to the Museu del Ciment in Castellar de n’Hug stands out, which invites visitors to immerse themselves in the industrial history of Catalonia, with exhibitions, guided tours and workshops.

Another jewel of the territory is the well-known Jardins Artigas, designed by Antoni Gaudí, a modernist marvel characterized by its beauty and integration with nature. The Monastery of Santa Maria de Lillet, a Cultural Asset of National Interest, and the Rotonda de Sant Climent are witnesses to the rich historical heritage of the area.

Visitors can also enjoy unique experiences such as the Escape Room “El Tresor de Gaudí”, stroll through the charming villages of La Pobla de Lillet and Castellar de n’Hug, or explore the Fonts del Llobregat in the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park. For families, the children’s playground at the Clot del Moro station and the heritage circuit through the old Asland colony offer fun and educational options.

Berguedà has enriched its tourist offer with new immersive and interactive proposals. The “Rubri and the secrets of the Llobregat river” experience allows you to discover the region through a mobile application, with routes and challenges for all ages.

The Museu del Ciment presents an innovative immersive guided tour with 3D glasses, which transports visitors to the 1920s to experience the operation of the old Asland factory up close. These activities offer a new way to connect with the history and heritage of Berguedà, combining technology and entertainment for a memorable experience.
