TERMS AND SALE
CONDITIONS

In this space you will find the compilation of sales and contracting conditions that apply to TURISTREN tourist trains.

1. Terms and Conditions

The purchase of a ticket implies full knowledge and unconditional acceptance of these General Conditions (conditions of sale, cancellation policy, rules of use, and rules of respect and Code of Conduct).

It is the customer’s responsibility to review the specific characteristics, before purchasing the ticket, as indicated in the corresponding ticket information text or on the corporate websites.

Tickets can be purchased online or via the ticket vending machines located at the stations.

A valid ticket is required for travel. Passengers must reserve their specific departure and return times.

Children up to 3 years of age may travel free of charge, provided they do not occupy a seat. Children aged 4 to 14 will pay the children’s fare according to the current tariff. All children must travel with a vàlid ticket.

Possession of a ticket does not guarantee a seat on the train. Passengers who do not find an available seat may travel standing on the platforms or in the interior aisles of the carriages.

The return ticket is valid for the specified journey and for the day of use purchased. It allows travel from the selected station and the return journey to the same departure station. It is not valid for journeys on different days, except for tickets for persons staying overnight in Vall de Núria.

If, for any reason, the Coma del Clot cable car is out of service, no refund will be issued, as this service is included in the rack railway ticket at no additional cost.

Users have various channels available to send complaints or suggestions to FGC. These can be consulted at this link.

2. Cancellation Policy

Products sold for a specific date may be cancelled up to 11:00 p.m. the day before the date of travel. No refunds will be issued after this time or once the travel date has passed.

Cancellation of purchased products must be carried out through the Customer Area, in the Order History section. By selecting the specific ticket and clicking on “View details,” you will have the option to request a refund if you are within the established period.

No other type of cancellation or exceptions will be considered beyond those specified in this document.

3. Rules for Use of Tickets and Facilities

To travel, it is essential to have purchased an appropriate ticket for the intended journey and to follow any instructions given by FGC staff.

Seats reserved for persons with reduced mobility or other groups specified on signage must be respected.

The ticket must be kept until exiting the destination station. Passengers must present their ticket to any Vall de Núria staff member who requests it. The ticket will not be valid if it has been altered or tampered with, or, when applicable, if it is not accompanied by the required identification card or does not comply with the specific conditions of use.

If a passenger holds a ticket showing signs of having been altered or forged, the provisions set out in the corresponding Railway Law will be applied.

Pets may be brought free of charge. Dogs must wear a muzzle and be kept on a leash from the moment they enter the rack railway facilities. Small animals must travel in baskets or cages. Under no circumstances may animals occupy a seat.

Dogs considered potentially dangerous under Law 10/1999 of 30 July (DOGC no. 2948, 09/08/99) may not be handled by persons under sixteen years of age, either on trains or at stations. In accordance with Decree 170/2002 and Royal Decree 287/2002, the person accompanying the dog must carry the relevant license and proof of registration in the Municipal Register. The leash must be shorter than 2 metres, and no more than one dog per person is permitted. The animal’s owner shall be solely responsible, including vis-à-vis third parties, for any incident arising from the animal’s behaviour.

Passengers travelling with luggage must use the luggage racks. Aisles and carriage platforms must be kept clear.

To extend a journey, the customer must alight at the next immediate station and purchase the appropriate ticket for the remainder of the journey.

Specific Conditions for Accessing the Vall de Núria Rack Railway with a Season Pass

Season pass holders do not need to make a prior reservation to access the rack railway. Access to the rack railway facilities is guaranteed by passing through the corresponding barriers.

4. Respect and Coexistence

FGC is a space that promotes coexistence. Users must therefore maintain civil, correct, and respectful behaviour towards other passengers and FGC staff, and must follow the instructions of FGC personnel, signage, train and station announcements, and public address systems.

  • Any behaviour that endangers the physical integrity of other users or harms the interests of FGC is also prohibited.

The following are not permitted:

  • Smoking on Vall de Núria Rack Railway trains, platforms, or enclosed station areas, in accordance with applicable legislation.

  • Improper use of alarm devices.
  • Approaching the edge of the platform.
  • Going down onto the tracks or crossing them outside designated crossings.
  • Accessing areas and premises where entry is expressly prohibited.

Failure to comply with these prohibitions constitutes an infringement under Railway Law 4/2006 of 31 March and may be sanctioned with fines of up to €6,000 for minor offences, up to €30,000 for serious offences, and up to €300,000 for very serious offences.

Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya declines all responsibility for accidents that may occur because of non-compliance with these provisions.
