Trains to Montserrat
The rack railway stations are located in the municipality of Monistrol de Montserrat, where you can take the rack railway from two stations to go up to the Montserrat Sanctuary.
- The Monistrol Enllaç station serves as a link with the R5 Llobregat-Anoia FGC line, visitors can arrive from the Pl. Espanya station in Barcelona or from any R5 service station.
-The Monistrol Vila station is for those visitors who arrive in private vehicles and coaches, the station has free parking.
The Montserrat Rack Railway is the only way to access Montserrat that reaches the center of the Sanctuary enclosure. There are 15 minutes of travel in which you can enjoy a privileged and spectacular view of the mountain.

Yes, it can be reached by train from Pl. Espanya station in Barcelona and from any station on the FGC line R5 Llobregat - Anoia, connecting with the Rack Railway to Monistrol - Enllaç station that goes up to Montserrat.

Yes, you can access Montserrat in your own vehicle and once there you can leave it in the free car park. You can also access the Rack Railway station in Monistrol-Vila by vehicle. Once there the Rack Railway brings you closer to the Montserrat enclosure.

The station for going up to the Sant Joan Funicular is located at the exit of the Abbey enclousure, specifically on the Sant Jeroni path. The path is perfectly indicated and signposted for users.

The station for going up to the Santa Cova Funicular is located in Plaça de Montserrat, in the Creu ascent area, very close to the arrival point and top station of the Montserrat Rack Railway.

Yes, to access Montserrat you can buy combined tickets both in our online shop and at the Plaça Espanya FGC station ticket offices, as well as at the self-service machines located at any of the FGC stations on the R5 Llobregat - Anoia line.

Groups requests for the services of Rack Railway and the funiculars of Sant Joan and Santa Cova must be made through the e-mail address [email protected].
Reservations cannot be made on the funiculars of Sant Joan and Santa Cova, access is made in strict order of queue and according to the occupation of the moment, the notice must also be sent to the stations informing of the number of people that make up the group such as the time of ascent and/or descent with the Funicular to carry out the service forecast.
Combined tickets Tot Montserrat and Trans Montserrat are open ticket and there is no specific date of use.
In order to change the tickets, you must present the confirmation voucher received at the "Punt d'Acollida de Montserrat" office located at the FGC Pl. Espanya (Barcelona) station, this office is open from Monday to Sunday from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.
